While Federal Way's location makes it an ideal base for visiting the sites throughout the Puget Sound region, many of those attractions are right here in Federal Way. Check out the attractions listed below!
Celebration Park
Celebration Park's 83.5 acres include a major sports complex of 4 lighted batting fields with bleachers and 4 lighted soccer fields. All 8 fields are the sites for local, regional and national tournaments. The facility has achieved a national reputation for outstanding quality. Enchanting trails and pathways with wooden bridges through the wetlands and trees connect with the 3.6 mile paved BPA Trail. Celebration Park also has a very popular children's play structure and a concession and restroom building. Spectacular views of Mt. Rainier abound from the park and from viewpoints along the BPA Trail.

PowellsWood Garden
The 2.5 cultivated acres of PowellsWood sits on the edge of the Cold Creek greenbelt, which stretches from Dash Point Road all the way down to Redondo. The Powells purchased the greenbelt as a legacy for the community in 1992. The ground on which PowellsWood sits was used for years as a dump for construction debris. When work on the garden began, the Powells cooperated with Cedar Grove to test composts as a means of amending the soil and bringing back life. PowellsWood is developed around a number of themed "rooms", and was designed by noted Landscape Architect Ned Gulbran. The effect makes visitors to PowellsWood feel remarkably at ease, moving from room to room as one would through a vacation home. PowellsWood is home to nearly thousands varieties of trees, flowering shrubs and plants. The woodland and shade gardens in particular demonstrate how private landowners can use natural land features to develop stunning landscapes. Over a period of three years, Monte and Diane Powell attended classes at England's Harlow Carr, the garden of the Royal Horticultural Society in Harrogate, Yorkshire, making mental plans for what would eventually become PowellsWood.
